before email, and the internent as we know it, there was the pen and paper. we really take for granted how fast we communicate these days.
a few letters from john to jack.

" dear mr connors,
i enjoyed talking to you sunday at the museum. the pictures that mr wallace gave me today
sure brought back memories of old times on my motorcycle.
there is no doubt that part of these pictures were taken from the engine that i revised in order to make it turn over faster.
four of the pictures (large) and two of the small ones are good evidence that they are taken from the engine i designed-
some changes were made on some of the parts shown in the pictures- however the three other pictures i do not recognize.
i altered two engines practically in the same way. one was a single and one was a twin and i left them both in providence
with ceasar littereis garage an machine shop on social st. he came here one and wanted to know if i wanted the motorcycles and i told him no-
thank you for sending the pictures.
with best wishes,
john c. garand"

"mr connors-
i dont remember what the color was on my motorcycle but i believe they were red.
one was a single and the other a twin- you know that was a long time ago.
with best wishes john c. garand. "

they never die.
